Parcels of fun and music for the soul.

The most wonderful box of love in the post last week from Amy, a girl I know from when I lived in Leeds.
She sent my three skirts as well as this amazing cat quilt for Solina AND two handmade cat toys.  As soon as I opened the parcel, Solina was pouncing on the toys, which are a mouse, and a Bits and Blobs character, oh, which are shown in this photo.

I have walked in the room so many times to see her playing with the mouse, being a crazy cat, it makes me smile that something handmade is preferred over shop bought cat toys!  My cat has good ethics!  She loves this cat quilt, and so do I!
Thank you Amy.

This Monday 7th February, we went to see Ólafur Arnalds at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill.

Oh W.O.W.  He is amazing.  Such a lovely gig.  There was a quartet too, which I loved.  Strings are the most perfect instruments to accompany piano (he played the keyboard on this occasion though) and the lighting was just so perfect.  Glowing orange lights underneath each musician and just enough smoke to make the light disperse into a dreamlike haze.  The animated projections behind them onto the curtains were so sensitive to the music and didn't overpower the delicate melodies, but instead enhanced them so so subtlety.   I took no photographs, but I'm linking to this one by Jay Johar from the Ólafur Arnolds website.  The greatest thing is, we are seeing Ólafur Arnalds again in two months time!!!
Check his music out, it's contemporary classical and so beautiful, and this video shows and sounds just that.  Have a gander, let me know if you like him, or even if you went!
